Notes for MINNA EMILY (MIRIAM GREENBERG WEITZ:

Zacharia Weitz was discharged shortly before WW1. He left europe and came to Montreal right before the 1st world war broke out. She and Sarah remained behind in Austria. With the outbreak of the war, they were separated for much longer than had planned. He could not bring them over until after the war was over. Somewhere after the war, she came to Montreal with Sarah. It was in Montreal that Dorothy was born. That explains the 13 year difference in their ages.

Spoke a dozen languages and was incredibly intelligent and wise, yet she had never had formal education. Her mother had passed away early in her life. She had eleven brothers and sisters and had to raise them and care for them at an early age. She passed away somewhere in the middle 60's. I must have been about 15 or 16. She is buried in Jerusalem.
