Weekend of Painting #5 - The Guest Room
After several months break we decided to finish off the painting in the upstairs bedrooms and the bathroom. This time around we decided to buy all the paint for the remaining rooms so we had one less excuse to start painting. Originally we were going to paint the guest room and study the same color (a sage green), however we needed two cans of paint to cover both room so we decided to get two different colors. We chose a light green called Garden Pond and a darker green called Aqua Duche. This time around instead of Taubmans Duraclean we chose Dulux 101 as they were giving away a 4L can of Jelly Beans! We also decided to make the wall with the window a 'feature' wall using the darker green (yes the study will also have the feature wall, but in light green). Fortunately we had all the pre work done the day before so we were able to get the ceiling, feature wall (2 coats) and the other walls (2 coats) done on Easter Friday. Our only complaint with the Dulux paint is that it smells worse than the Taubmans Duraclean, the Dulux needs about a weeks airing (our neighbours could tell we painted!) whilst the Taubmans needs less than a day.

We also finished the curtains in our bedroom. We had bought these months ago but had not gotten around to hemming them (they are a similar style to the lounge room ones). The curtains should match the color we chose for the walls called Divine (yep back to Taubmans Duraclean).
Weekend of Painting #6 - The Master Bedroom
A week after painting the Guest room we decided to get our room painted. So we moved into the Guest room to clear some space and started painting. This time we used the new 'Paint on pink and dries white' ceiling paint. It didn't really make much difference to finding missed spots. The wet paint color really needed to be darker. The walls were much easier than the other rooms (well one wall is the cupboard which didn't need painting). We also added tiebacks for the curtains.
