I was hoping to open with a quote from the book An Unquiet Mind by Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison. I have her permission to print it, but am still awaiting permission from the publisher. All I can say is that it is a great book and the epilogue contains the best, most profound description of bipolar illness and depression that I have ever read.

We are all in this journey together. Do not think that you are alone. Many people suffer from Bipolar Disorder and Depression. This site is here primarily to help you along in your journey to feel better and get better. I am not a medical professional, so please do not ask me for advice, if you do, I will probably have to just give you advice on where you can go and what you can do to get further information.
This site is part of my journey. It is different for everyone, yet we are all familiar with the same feelings. It's nice to have somewhere to go where no one thinks you are "crazy" and understands the thoughts and feelings that you have and accept you as you are.
I have been on this "rollercoaster" for quite a few years and still am learning more each day. You will find links for support and chats, and a page dedicated to HOTLINE numbers.
I expect this page to be updated at least once a month (probably more often) as I find more helpful books, sites, links, and hotline numbers.
