History of the football team Slavia - Sofia

The team is created on 10 April 1913. after combination of the Sofian sport clubs “Pazvitie” and “Botev”. On the constituent meeting the delegates give the name of the new club – “SLAVIA”, affirmative the white color of the sport equipment, and made a commission which write the rules of the team. The first play of football club Slavia 1913 if with sport club “Savata” (than becomes FC 13), played on 11 August at the same year and Slavia win with 1:0. On 1 April 1915. was played the first play (friend) between “Slavia” and “Levski” (Sofia), which the "white" wins with 1:0. With the first town football competition, made in Sofia 1921-22. with 10 teams, the club win the first place.

For the first time “Slavia” go to the final of the national football competition in it's second edition in 1926., when the club play's with the champion “Vladislav” (Varna). On 22 August the result is 1:1, which force replay. It isn't consist on the first definite date by guilt of Vladislav, which reject to play with the referee, after that the announced by the federation don't come. After that becomes wrangles and different resolves by different boards. At last the federation defines continuity two dates for replays in 1927., but “Slavia” don't want to play them, by interdict by the Sofian sport league and for champion is announced “Vladislav” again. In 1927. “Slavia” goes in Italy, where plays friend matches with “Napoly” (wins 7:0 and 3:2) and “Roma” (win 2:1 and lose 4:5). The first time “Slavia” become a national champion in 1928., when on the final (30 August) defeat the champion “Vladislav” (Varna) with 4:0.

The club is champion of Bulgaria 7 rimes (1928, 1930, 1936, 1939, 1941, 1943, 1996.) and win the national cup 11 times (1928, 1930, 1936, 1943, 1952, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1975, 1980, 1996.). In different periods of it's history Slavia was renamed many times - “Stroitel” (1949-50), “Udarnik” (1951-56), “JSK SLAVIA” (1969-71., when it's connected with Lokomotiv Sofia. This period was not counted in the history of the club - it's read individual). Unchanging partner in “?” group from her creation in 1948., with exception of 1951., when unfair is extracted with official commission (after been at second place 1950.). in “B” group, but still in 1952. it's again in "A" group (without loses in second division).

On the european tournaments "Slavia" has played in the tournament of UEFA and CNC (which Uefa closes in 1999.). In the tournament of the Cup of the winers of national cups (CNC) Slavia reaches semifinal (the first Bulgarian club semifinalist) in the spring of 1967. when plays with “Reingers” (Scotland), and loses and the two matches with minimal - 0:1. In the spring of 1981 in the same tournament we lose in 1/4 final by “Feinord” (Holland) after 0:4 (away) and 3:2 (home).
