Hi I'm Rae and these pages dedicated to student nursing and perhaps some other stuff to relieve the stress. I'm currently in my third and final year of training to become an RGN. I'm training in Lancaster, England under the Project 2000 programme. In England there are currently two forms of nurse training - P2000 and a degree programme (4 yrs) - and there is much controversy over which is the better way to train, since both programmes are relatively new and vastly different from 'traditional' training programmes. I'd be interested to hear UK nursing students opinion about P2K/degree/trad. training, and I'd very much love to hear about other training programmes across the globe. Do you think your training is preparing you well enough? How could things be better? I'd love to hear opinions and share experiences which could maybe give support to make all our journeys through nurse training a little easier. If you're already a qualified nurse, I hope you'll find something interesting in these pages although obviously it's coming from a student perspective. Maybe it'll bring those memories flooding back of what it was to be a student nurse - so please be good to us when we come to you on our clinical placements!
I'm up for suggestions for the site - let me know your ideas.
