Those
days the team comprises of a doctor, a dispenser and boatmen. We start
our journey on early Monday morning, usually first week of the month. We
gathered at Batu Langgok (Kuala Tembeling) Jetty at about 8.30 am. Had
our breakfast together then off we go to Kuala Tahan. We reached Kuala
Tahan usually at noon. I conducted the clinic there and we stay
overnight.
The next day (Tuesday), we
continue our journey. We stopped at KD Kampung Pagi where we will be
joining another team from KK Kampung Bantal. The other team consists of
two Staff Nurses, boatman and attendant. The clinic in Kampung Pagi
usually heavy (busy). We usually finish at 1-2 pm. After completed our
Zohor prayer, we continue our ride upstream, now with two boats.
Occasionally we stopped half way and had our lunch beside the river.
Nice huh?
Later in the afternoon we stopped
at Kuala Sat. Usually we arrived at 4 pm. We see the patient there and
then proceed to Kampung Bantal.
We
arrive at Kampung Bantal at about 6-7 pm, depends on the water level. If
its too low, we have to get out of the boat and push. That was a very
tiring job. Sungai Tembeling is not deep. The most is 1.5 meter. But I
was hoping it was deeper....
On Wednesday morning we go to
Bukit Mat Daling. Usually the clinic was very busy. The next day we go
to Gusai.
We ended our mobile service at
Kampung Bantal itself. Patient are not that many because we
already cover most of the villages already. We leave for Jerantut at
noon. We packed (tapau) or lunch and go straight home. Late in the
afternoon (6pm), we reached Batu Langgok. And that was the end of our
mobile service for the month.
Besides
boat ride, I experienced the land route using the 4WD. It was
fascinating. seeing different environment. It was not saving much time,
but rather more tiring.
