My
clinic, Klinik Kesihatan Kuala Tembeling located about 24 km from
Jerantut(town). It was built in July 1976.
I was the 5th doctor for the
clinic. We have 2 "Klinik Desa (KD)" (Rural Clinic) at Chebong
and Labu. There is also a Health Clinic in Kuala Tahan which is also in
our operational area. Even though there are only two KDs to run, we also
do few subsidiary clinics to the villages (Pasir Durian, Kampung Gol and
Sungai Tiang) plus few Orang Asli settlements (Sungai Yong and Kuala
Atok).
My clinic was not busy. I combined
my antenatal and high risk clinics in Tuesday morning. I can see all the
patients comfortably.
In Kuala Tembeling, our main
activities are health educations. In every year we make sure that we can
visit as much villages as possible. The response were good.
My
staff, they were great. Saiful, Kak Aminah, Rosli and wife (Anisah), Kak
Yah, Kak Khuzaiah, Midah, Kak Ani, Pod De, Abang Omar (both of them),
Abang Salleh, Abang Wahab, Zul, Kak Ton and not to forget Salina and Faridah Hani. The
staff at Kuala Tahan, Sulaiman and Kak Anisah. They have helped me a lot. Only God can repay
their deeds. I've learnt a lot during those two years in Jerantut.
We managed to set a trip to Ulu
Tembeling as part of our Family Day, and it was the first ever in KK
Kuala Tembeling.
Health problem? Well as far as I
can remember, the only difficulty I faced was to persuade ladies to do
Pap Smear. Our achievement was very poor. Hope everything is different
today.
