I think it is all psycological (don't look sick), aches must be old age creeping up too quickly. Doctors never agree and are never to sure what to do? My new doctor doesn't see any "proof" of SLE and says I never had it. It seems to be in remission, except for occasional mild symptoms. They keep changing, so doc keeps looking or new problem. I think they're mostly attributable to SLE. Would appreciate any encouraging words via email. Thanks! |

After LOTS OF TESTS, I was diagnosed with Vasculities of the Central Nervous System, possible cause SLE. I am doing well after chemo and ster ids and would love to hear from others who have had stroke due to vasculitis of the brain. (I am off meds, but have MRIs every 6 months to monitor brain lesions. |

My philosophy is just keep on plugging. I know it's hard, but I remind myself that what hurts today might not be there tomorrow, and thi too shall pass. I believe my guardian angels are watching over me, and not to sound too religious, prayer helped me hurdle the worst of it. |

Life's been pretty rough since then, but I did manage to go to college, graduate, marry AND have two kids. I also have a full-time job, so I think I've had a great life so far, in spite of thi horrible disease. You wanna know what the worst part about lupus is? Besides the pain and lack of control over your body, the worst thing is that you don't look sick and lots of times people don't believe that there is anything wrong with you. Wow, I idn't think I would actually have so much to say, but there is a lot more, which I'm sure any of you other fellow sufferers can agree, but the whole reason I've survived this long without going crazy is that I do not let this disease rule my life. I hope anyone who reads this can try to do the same. If you realize that you can beat it, you will. The disease may not go away, but you can live your life around it. |
