Multiple Agminated Spitz Nevus--A Case Report
Multiple agminated Spitz nevus (MASN) is a rare variant of Spitz nevus. It occurs mainly on the face of infants or children. Three adult cases have been reported in the English literature. We report the fourth case. A 26-year-old woman developed several erythematous, slight itching papules over the right leg in recent 6 months, 2 months after a small papule was removed at the same site. Histopathology revealed nests of epithelioid cells and several multinucleated giant cells in the upper dermis. The epithelioid cells are S-100 protein positive. Spitz nevus is diagnosed. Because the lesions are multiple and clustered, MASN is the diagnosis. The lesions regressed gradually and spontaneously. (Dermatol Sinica 1992; 10: 151-155) |
