BIO--ME, MYSELF & I ! Click on the red highlights to learn some things about some of the places I've lived I was hatched in Milwaukee, WI (beer country of the World) and lived there until I was two when my family moved to Janesville, WI. When I was fifteen we moved up north and I finished high school in Three Lakes, a resort town. Shortly afterward along with my best friend, Lou, I joined the Navy! I left behind my girlfriend, Dolores, who lived in Janesville at the time. I had began dating her in 1945 and she waited for me until 1951 while I was in the Navy. In 1949 after spending two years shore duty at the Naval Air Station in Washington D.C. I requested sea duty and served on the USS Paiute (ATF-159). In 1950 transferred to the USS Kiawa (ATF-71)[Note:scraped in 1994]. In 1951 was transferred to the USS Severn (AO-70).If anyone knows anything about these ships or if you were on them sign my guestbook. It was at this time that I went home and married Dolores, but while on my honeymoon, President Truman decided that I needed another year and involuntarily extended my hitch and I spent the next year on the sea.Darn it, Darn war. Darn it! Four weeks before discharge from the Navy I wrote to Fairbanks Morse Co in Beloit WS and requested that I take the test for a tool & die apprenticeship. Graduating in '56 I hired out at the Parker Pen Co., specializing in plastic mold making. During this time in Beloit and Janesville, "Dee" and I had 3 girls and 2 boys: Sue Ann,now in Orlando. Fl; Sally Marie, now in San Jose, CA; Sandra Lee, now in Boca Raton, FL; Thomas Michael now in San Jose, and Daniel Joseph in Los Banos, CA. After working for Parker in '65 I worked for IBM in Rochester who in turn transferred me to San Jose in '65 where I served in the procurement area as a polymer engineer assisting buyers supplier support assisting purchasing in supplier section, part costs, helping suppliers with the building of the molds, getting parts to spec./print "bird dogging the buyers and suppliers in general" to get and keep plastic parts flowing from designs and production at the right price and time allowance. In 1978 we went to Mt. Dora, FL and took a 2 YEAR VACATION! When I finally ran out of $$$, I purchased a small business in Ocala, FL which turned into a 12 hr, 7 day a week....the bugs and the heat were too much! In 1986 I returned to San Jose, took ANOTHER YEAR OFF, then tried my hand at Security. After 3-4 security Co jobs/positions, I finally ended up with Conner (now Seagate) hard disc makers and retired early as the acting Manager of security! In 1994 we moved 75 miles down the road to Los Banos, CA and just LAID BACK......! Oh! by the way......Dolores is still with me......grown acustomed to my face after 49 YEARS including our "going together" 54 years! WoW! Have you heard people say they were born married? Well, we are pretty darn close to it. I was 14 and we were rollerskating partners and still are partners and I couldn't do without her. Links to other sites on the Web My friend in Texas' page!
