Passing through this way,

So let us try to do

Our very best from day to day....

Doing everything we can

For loved ones while they’re here;

Let us prove our heart’s affection

While we have them near.

We are only passing through,

And life is very short -

So strive to make the most of it;

By word and deed and thought.

To smooth the path for others

And to cause them no distress,

Giving only joy and comfort,

Help and happiness.

Always keep your promises,

No matter what the cost -

You can’t patch up a friendship

Once the confidence is lost.

Do your duty, so that none

Can ever point at you

And say you failed or faltered

In the tasks you had to do.

Life upon this little world

Is just an episode,

A journey - and we pass but once

Along this bit of road.

So do to others, as you would

That they should do to you.

You will not come this way again -
