Aucklands long serving president retires.
Gaydene Joseph, our well known and highly
respected President, announced her retirement at our AGM in June.
This came after something like twenty -five years of non stop service to Huntingtons
disease. Gaydene was an inaugural member when the association was first set up all those
years ago and has remained a devoted worker helping patients and families in every way
possible.
In those early days, Gaydene had very little help and all by herself willingly filled the
roles of field officer, counsellor, administrator, and friend to the entire Auckland H D
Community.
She and her late husbands family have been most generous benefactors to our
association and without their help and guidance it is unlikely that we would have grown to
be the successful organisation that we are today.
The Auckland committee, and the association at large, would like to thank Gaydene most
sincerely for her wonderful contribution over so many years and we all wish her the very
best for the future.
