FOR MY FRIENDS

Ten Years ON

TRauma is Transformational,

With lessons educational,
With changes comes,
Awareness of things not understood.
Changes, once faced with trepidation,
Have led to years of Illumination,
Reminding me even with the trials,
Often comes something good.

Blessed with friends,

Whose unconditional friendship and kind empathy,
Encouraged me to weather the changes with diligence and grace,
To be,despite what comes, at peace with all I see.
To stand firm , no matter what struggles I face.

Life without Friends is lonely isolation,

Solitary alienation, silence, deprivation, the souls starvation.
Deprived of a friends hand,
In solitary contemplation,
Life is like music, without a band..

May your journey always be surrounded by the love and light of friends. May the Grace of God bring you peace.

"When you see an Angel Falling won't you stop and help him up. For we are each others Angels. And we meet when it is time. We keep each other going and we show each other signs." Local singer-songwriter David Lamotte who can be heard on WNCW FM wncw.org

After all this time, there are probably many of you out there who have wondered why I have been so silent the last few years. We've been fighting intractable battles for justice and healthcare. My health has kept me offline. Political harrassment and backlash have kept me mired in the swamp of stress. Soon, I hope to be back online. I feel so blessed to be alive now. I want to take time to relish the Grace I've been given rather than dissecting the negativity that led to my illness. Thanks to all who have prayed and sent good thoughts. I am filled with gratitude for all my friends and doctors.

Fearless and brave we all must be

To fulfill our own cosmic destiny
Put aside cynicism and apathy
And sail this tranquil sea
This ocean of cosmic serendipity
For certainly, life is unfolding with God's synchronicity

This year has taught me that we are all truly connected. There has been much synchronicity in my life. It seems the greatest lesson for me has been to let go of being attached to my own wishes and to find out what God wants for me. To accept my own Dharma. May the lessons of your own life become clear. May you be at peace with what you find and may life return peace back to you

May God keep you safe, warm and healthy in the coming year and great blessings come your way.

Written 2001To make a long story short, " what a long strange trip it's been." Grateful Dead . Some of you know that over two years ago last September, we lost our self sufficiency project/farm to the inane and unkind assumptions of a Rush Limbaugh fan. However, the move was meant to be. We have the most wonderful neighbors and are quite amazed that what God took away, He turned around and blessed us with folks who did not judge me by my wallet, my infirmities nor my appearance. I have a greater perspective on being thankful for the valleys for they make one appreciate the mountaintops. No further along the road to full employment, I am nonetheless a far different person than I was two years ago. We lost Emily to the systems stupidity and her own self destruction. Yet, I have learned to let her go and use her wings as she will. Robin skipped second grade and now has been on honour roll in the AG program and doing well.(Honour Roll for six semesters now). He is now a rising fifth grader and number two in his class. He's so tall and brings me great joy everyday. I've learned more from being his mother than I could ever teach him. My health fluctuates wildly at times but I have good docs who support my use of alternative medical treatments. Had breast surgery in October and it was benign. I've put aside activism for now. This is not a safe time to speak out and the backlash we have engendered in our efforts causes too much trouble. If I write, I write about solution ,empowerment, self-determination oriented material. www.poetry.com has some of my work. Most of all I have learned that taking care of myself comes before anything else if I am to survive and care for my child. Emails I am behind on.. took a fall in Dec and reinjured back but am in good spirits.. fighting for my health and trying to stay positive. , I must be careful not to overdo lest another relapse comes my way. So, don't assume I do not care if you do not hear from me. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. If you are so inclined, pray, think good thoughts or send up positive wishes. Many things have changed since the above paragraph was written. LIfe holds many surprise just when you think it's about to get better, all hell breaks lose. Makes for a good learning curve but doesn't allow time to communicate with friends unfortunately.

FRIENDSHIP IS THE COMFORT, THE INEXPLICABLE COMFORT, OF NEITHER HAVING TO WEIGH THOUGHTS NOR MEASURE WORDS, BUT POURING ALL OUT AS THEY ARE. CERTAIN THAT A FAITHFUL HAND WILL KEEP WHAT IS WORTH KEEPING, AND WITH A BREATH OF COMFORT, BLOW THE REST AWAY. OLD ARAB PROVERB

This page will remain as a testament to the power of love and friendship forever.

Let us always remember how alike we are , forget and respect our differences. May the knowledge that we are all connected on this small planet help us to better caretakers of it , each other and ourselves. May we remember always to be kind to one another and spread peace throughout the world. For one of the greatest minds of this or any other century once said;

" Imagine all the people sharing life in peace, you.....hoooo...... you may say , that I'm a dreamer, But I'm not the only one. I hope one day you'll join us, and the world will be as one." John Lennon
