using your brain -- for a change | In
this book, Richard Bandler introduces a number of the
major distinctions of NLP, giving the best knowledge he
can possible give -- the reader's own experience in what
it is to do NLP. Each chapter is filled with ways of
testing what Bandler says, and techniques to go and
practice. The book is
transcribed from a number of trainings that Richard gave
in the early '80s. Techniques covered include
submodalities, the phobia cure, belief change and the
swish amongst others. More than that, the book shows that
you can choose how want to feel. Minute to minute, hour
to hour, day to day, you can choose who you want to be,
instead of your environment choosing you. The book has an easy
chatty style. If you've been to any of his seminars,
you'll quickly find that his voice comes to mind as you
read. It's partly for this reason that the book makes a
great 'dessert' for after a practitioner's course. Along
with his text are cute and witty cartoons, in keeping
with the jovial, bouncy mood of the text. You could easily just read this as an entertaining introduction to the ideas of NLP and miss out on 80% of the benefits. Buy the book, do the exercises and have more fun than should be legal. |
