Lesion is painful and bleeds easily on minimal trauma. The surface
of the mass shows multiple ulceration, hemorrhage and necrotic tissue.
The base is hard and indurated. Multiple smaller protuberant swellings
arise from the same base.
Investigations were done and include:
Abdominal sonography which revealed no organomegaly or metastasis of
internal organs.
Scanning X-rays revealed no bone metastases.

Histopathology:
There is a spindle shaped neoplasm that extends throughout the dermis and
also involves the fibrous septa in the subcutaneous fat. The spindle shaped
cells are arranged in storiform pattern there is abundant mucin within
the fibrous stroma.
Diagnosis:
Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans
