Hello, and thank you for visitng my homepage.
I hope you had a wonderful experience and gained enough knowledge about
my topic. My name is Warsame Jama. I was born and raised in
Somalia, Mogadisho. I came to the United States when I was sixteen
years old for studies. Therefore, I have not gone back to my hometown
since then due to a six year civil war. Currently, I am a first year
graduate student at the American University, majoring in Computer Science
and Information Systems.
I have always liked to learn more about computers
throughout my life. However, this class has provided me with the
opportunity to interact with computers very frequenlty (hands on training).
It is the first time in my life where I applied my knowledge and interest
by designing a hypermedia text. At the begining I had a difficuilt
time understanding and designing my hypertext project; however now it is
very easy for me to update and maintain my project.
It is very interesting for
me design a web page about a topic in which I can learn how different
species can interact with one another and with their environment in order
to stay alive. One of the main reasons why I studied biology as an
undergraduate was to learn more about the interaction between species
and their environment; therefore, the relationship monarch butterflies
have with
milkweeds and viceroy butterflies demonstrate well this type of interaction.
Also, since I have taken Ecology five years during my undergraduate years, I have learned a lot about Monarch butterflies. As I mentioned in my previous pages, Monarchs are type of butterflies that are only found in North America and they fly long distance during their migration to the South and Norht and vice versa. This also keeps them very unique than the rest of the butterflies.
In short, my plan for the future is to expand my
hypertext project into more personal hoppies, such as music, tennis, shopping
and of course politics. I would like my homepage to be a place where
people who share all these hobbies with me can drop by whenever they feel
like.
