PAXIL & ATIVAN(Tracey A) Not sure if the Paxil helps,... too much doesn't work well. The ativan helps to "take the edge off."

KLONOPIN (update)(Lana) Ok, I have been on the Klonopin now (second time around) for 5 months. I am on a lower dosage than before, and I have to say that it is working GREAT! I havent had a severe panic attack for about 4 months, and I am now able to do things I never thought I could do. Klonopin is my little piece of sanity:)

PAXIL(Reddheddnj@AOL.com) Haven't had a panic or anxiety attack since I began Paxil in April of this year.

PAXIL(anonymous)Used it for several years--excellent--stopped about 8 months ago--of course, stress of new career, daughter' illness, choosing college, husband quit smoking--all added to the fact that I'm back on it again. I'm sure it will help again.

PROZAC(Julie)I've only been taking it for 4 days, and the first dose mellowed me out quite a bit. This worried me, but my doctor explained to me that prozac "slows down"your nervous system in order to bring up the seratonin level in your brain. This is in order to diminish the attacks that come with panic disorder.

XANAX and all Sedatives(Christa)Prozac familiy of medication speeds me up. I have tried so many with failure i do not try any new ones any more! I do not buy in to the whole side affect thing. Why should i suffer if it is benificial? three weeks of hell and they promise it will be better? How do they know!............Xanex kills the attack but leaves me in about two hours to fend off the next one!

St. Johns wort(Rodney S.) After three months of threapy last fall I wasn't prescribed any medication whatsoever by my therapist. My cousin had talked about a herb grown out west called St. Johns Wort that was a "natural prozac"--I blew it off. While in the grocery store, a major panic attack rushed in like water crashing through an overburded dam. I literally ran to the exit. I leaned aginst my car and took a few deep breaths of chilly Indiana air. I went back into the store and found a bottle of St. Johns Wort in the herb section. I bought it. That was last December and I have been 95% panic free since. I take it only once a day now and seem to be on a constant level of "sanity" unlike the tremendous ups and downs I experienced in the past.
