Welcome new subscribers!

Some of you may not have received the welcome message (which is automated), because my PC decided to have one of those nice Microsoft Windows fatal exceptions and I had to re-boot. Believe me, you aren't alone on this list so fire away on your questions and comments. This digest has quickly grown to over 225 subscribers.

Subject: Protein - The Easy Way

One of the things I struggle with the most in my training is keeping the ratio of protein in my diet in correct balance with carbohydrates (all low glycemic index carbs of course). I think most people will agree this can be tough to do if you often eat on the run, or are just plain lazy like me! There's so many carbs out there and they taste so good - it's just too easy to fall into the trap of eating too much carbohydrates without realising it.

So...I'm looking for ideas from people for suggestions for simple high protein meals or recipies that taste good (sorry guys, but protein powder mixed with tuna just dosn't cut it!).

Just to get ball rolling, here's an example of a quick & easy high protein meal I like:

Frozen Fish fillets (eg. Boston Bluefish) - place on a baking tray, put some slices of tomato on top, sprinkle with a little oregano, basil and pepper, sprinkle some grated mozzarella on top. Bake for 35 mins at about 200 degrees C (don't ask me what that is in F).

One other question. Are there any HITers out there that are using "The Zone" diet advocated by Dr Barry Sears with success for gaining mass? I was thinking of following this diet to cut back bodyfat levels some (and less painfully than the ketogenic diets!), but I'm wondering if's perhaps suboptimal for muscle mass gain? Ideas anyone?

Rob

Could someone please give me Lyle McDonalds' e-mail address. I've been wanting to send mail to the Nutri-Muscle Q+A, but the University's Netscape will not allow mail to go out directly through Netscape. Thanks...? bg

I heard a rumor Hammer Strength was being sold. This is probably the reason the HT hasn't been out in a LONG time. I wouldn't subscribe right now, that's for sure!

I heard recently from a friend that it is detremental to eat immediatly = after a workout. Currently I take creatine right after working out and = wait about 40 minutes to eat. What are the opinions concerning post work= out meals after training HIT?
