Surgery pictures Page 8: May, 2000 Dental Surgery

Sheldon, at 4-1/2 years old, needed a LOT of dental work done. The dentist decided to do it in the OR to lessen the trauma. A few weeks prior to surgery, Sheldon started to get in his FIRST 2 permanent teeth. This was great except for the fact that his baby teeth hadn't come out yet. So those *very loose* baby teeth were removed too.

Sheldon's first permanent teeth have arrived, but his baby teeth haven't fallen out yet! The dentist will remove the baby teeth during this surgery.

This was the first surgery Daddy was around for. We let Dad change Sheldon into his hospital clothes. Nice try dad, but you got it on backwards!

On our way to the hospital, I bought Sheldon a little toy. He chose handcuffs. Here he is, keeping himself occupied as we wait.

What an adorable boy!

Mom wanted to make sure Sheldon stayed in the hospital so she handcuffed him to the chair <grin>

We are now in the "holding" room. Sheldon is sitting on his gurney, playing with a pen-light (it's not a candle!), his handcuffs and the blankets! Note his comfy item sitting on his lap as well...a lavender burp rag!
