Globalization has come to mean much more than just nations and people coming together to exchange views and ideas, technologies and expertise. The latest concept that has started taking shape in Medical / Dental Tourism.
Medical / Dental Tourism can be broadly defined as provision of 'cost effective'
private medical care in collaboration with the tourism industry for patients
needing surgical and other forms of specialized treatment ie.like dental procedures. Medical / Dental tourism has become a common form of vacationing, and covers a broad spectrum of Medical / Dental services. It mixes leisure, fun and relaxation with wellness and healthcare.
Today India is a world leader in the medical / dental tourism industry as more patients seek treatment outside their native / residential areas. Ten years ago, medical tourists travelling to India were very small in number, just 150,000. Over half a million foreign patients travelled to India in 2005 and this number is forecast to reach several million in the next few years and cement India’s position as the number one destination for medical / dental tourism.
The Western World and most other developed countries undoubtedly have the best of medical facilities. But it is also evident there is shortage of medical professionals, long waits in National Health Services (NHS) and government facilities, high insurance, and the resultant skyrocketing costs of private dental care have all made it unaffordable to hapless most. But the smile of your dreams could be more affordable than you think - Getting your dentistry costs down by over 75%, getting the best treatment and enjoying a holiday as well and maybe even having some money left over - This is the reality of Medical / Dental tourism in India. Quite simply, India can offer lower prices due to lower infrastructure costs, yet without any compromise in the quality of treatment.
With low cost airfares and one of the most beautiful countries on earth to discover, more and more patients than ever are seeking dental treatment in India's major cities. Unlike many other more serious operations the treatment does not even have to interrupt your holiday and can be built into the schedule. The holiday of a lifetime for FREE! If you fancy seeing the bustling metropolis called Mumbai, the Taj Mahal, or maybe trekking in the Himalayas, world class rafting, fishing, bird watching, seeing elephants, Bengal tigers or relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Goa, this is the route to take.
