Annually, Delta Gamma volunteers of all ages and all over the world provide thousands of hours toward sight conservation and aid to the blind. Since 1952, Delta Gamma has given more than $900,000.00 to over 37 different organizations for Service for Sight. Delta Gamma, founded in 1873, was one of the seven original women's groups that began the National Panhellenic Conference, and is the first and ONLY Panhellenic group to have its flower registered with the American Rose Association ~

Sorority Sisters
"Big/Lil Sis"
Sarah and Merideth
While all the girls in the same Sorority are considered Sorority Sisters, each individual has her own Big Sister and Little Sister. Each new pledge is matched up with a Sophomore girl as her Big Sister. They are established as a "family", having a Big Sis, a Grand Big Sis, and a Great-Grand Big Sis (and so on). Once a girl officially becomes a member of a sorority, she is a member for life, and the family line of sisters established is also a life-long partnership.
These photos were taken on Big/Lil night, when each girl found out who her Big Sis was. And, of course, they celebrated with a big bash. They have a party over everything!
This is Merideth, and she is my Sarah's Big Sis! She's a real sweetheart and Sarah couldn't have found a better and more suitable Big Sis for her. Thanks, Merideth, for being such a wonderful friend to my Baby.

Sarah (with the dark hair) is Merideth's Big Sis, Merideth is my Sarah's Big Sis, so the first Sarah is my Sarah's Grand-Big Sis. My Sarah (the blond) couldn't be happier with her new "family"! She told me just how grateful and fortunate she feels to have been matched up with girls she has so much in common with and already feels so close to. This, of course, makes my heart happy. I hope these girls will stay in contact and remain good friends all their lives.

Sarah and Merideth with other DeeGee sisters on Big/Lil Sis party night. Can't you tell by their smiles what fun they're having?!
They went to formal meal that evening and after dinner, the announcement was made that it was Big/Lil night. It was a surprise! Each girl was given a note with a clue written on it. When she followed the clue, she found a gift with another clue. This continued with 5 or 6 clues, each with another gift. The last clue led each girl upstairs to a room where she found a pair of pajamas with the instructions to put on the pajamas and then go downstairs to find her Big Sis dressed in matching pajamas. My Sarah was ecstatic to find Merideth and her Big Sis, Sarah wearing the same pajamas as hers!

Another "family" portrait! Sarah (Junior), Merideth (Sophomore), and Sarah (Freshman) . . . Looking good, girls! If they look THIS good in pajamas, just imagine how good they look all dressed up! The three prettiest girls at O.U.!
