The Job: My little niche in society
Although I work in Investor Relations now, my real love is writing. My buddy Ray and I are writing a screenplay together and I like to write erotica though I haven't tried to sell any yet. Other past jobs include: Public Relations Consultant, Management Consulting Researcher, and TSN Producer's Assistant. I am looking to move to New York or London in the next year and work abroad before entering an MBA program, ideally one with a film studio program, but I haven't decided yet.
My Company
What's up with B ?
Well, let's give you all a run down of the things going on in my life!
I am currently writing a screenplay on my own and another one with my friend Raymond Aarons. One is a romance and the second is a comedy. I am writing articles to submit to Cosmo as well (for example… "12 Ways You Can Tell If YOUR Best Friend Is After YOUR Man?!") because I think they are so fun and easy to write. I am planning to continue taking Latin and mixed genre dance classes this Winter (hip-hop, jazz, swing, salsa, ballroom) to feed my love of going out dancing!!!
J I am seeking a good Jiu-Jitsu sensei in the Toronto area to begin practising the art.I'm doing a course in Financial Accounting right now to help me get into a better MBA down the road and really hope to take some language classes if I ever find the time! French would be a priority to become fluent in, since I already know it but am very rusty, and then copmes Spanish! I'm also doing the usual 5 days in the gym and 6 days out partying every week
J J J .Anyways, that's about all I can think of!
My Life and Times: An Autobiographical Sketch
Name
: Barry Paul K. Price ; ) (gotta maintain SOME mystery)Nicknames
: lol!!! OK, going back a ways... Swami (Summercamp, 10- 12 years old), Barry Berries (Motorcycle Food Gang co-founder, Age 7-10), "B" (a recurring theme, most recently taken up by my Trinidadian bud, Don Lee), Manilow (as in Barry _____, folks. Grade 8. Got into a few scraps over that one : ) I lost, the name remained.), the Gerbil ( the foolish Alex Chatzilias in Grade 11 Modern Western Civ. class, expressing early inklings of desire to go felching in future years. He has since managed to get to Peru, I believe, and seeks employment there to afford return fare. Brilliant.) also, at the nefarious hands of girlfriends I have been Moo, Dormouse, Muminek, Pooh, Barry (one of the more imaginitive ones), Boo, and other assorted cooing-like noises JDate Of Birth
: March 17th, 1973. St. Patty's Day! :)))))))))))Siblings
: One Sister, can't say her age, I want to have another birthday.School
: Orangeville Vocational College - Fish Gutting Technician (thanks a lot for believing in me Coop, we've come a long way thanks to Scientology :))) ). No, seriously though: Arbor Glen (Don Mills/Steeles) Kindergarten, Grades 1 and the first month of 2 until I told my Mom I hated Mrs. Burns :)))); Grade 2 Holy Redeemer Catholic School (Where I acquired my penchant for perverse, deviant behaviour, and also where I first learned about death first hand); Grade 3 a month at some crappy place near Don Mills and Finch, then Crestahven P.S.'s gifted prog.- Mrs. Jones in grades 3/4 (I'll never forget you. You were the first person to show me how important it was to live with your heart. I love you.) ; Mr. Shaw in Grade 5 (gay but never let it bias his professionalism, I have a great respect for his non-militancy given his position with us, also, he fancied himself knowledgeable about art and informed me that one of things I absolutely could NOT do was use different coloured letters to spell JOURNAL... it seems he was wrong); Grade 6 Terry McIsaac, another wonderful teacher and person :); Grade 7-8 I was at Upper Canada College's Prep. School, and will not detail my experiences there or you won't buy my book later "The Boys of U.C.C." (I will say that I was the Lou Gherig of academic awards back then... consistently making Mom proud... what happened???); Grades 9-13 Upper Canada College. (Seminal Facts: General Proficiency 85-92, Academic Tie, etc, etc, but no First Team ties, disappointingly)Favorite/Most Influential Teachers
: See above. Also, Mr. Terrence "Terentius" Bredin (Latin, gr 10-12) for his incredible intelligence, wit, and unswerving commitment to thinking without any rigid structure or boundaries... Lateral Thinking as he termed it. Mr. Morrow for razing my expository writing to the ground in grade 9 and especially in Expository Writing class... I may have been the only frosh in my University English class to have already been forced to write properly.Corinne Davies for demanding and deserving respect from her pupils, and for her assistance when I needed it. Wow... there are just too many to name. I liked them all. Mostly. ; )Best Friends
: My friends will never know how truly important they are to me, I don't think, but that's OK, since I do. :) Not a single one of them could ever take another one's place, since I seem to have a knack for finding such wonderful and unique people to surround myself with! In absolutely, positively no particular order, here it goes then: Maggie I'm not even ATTEMPTING to do this here... I've already been typing for an hour! -sigh- we know how we feel about each other, though, and that will never change, even once you've had the operation; Ren, ren, ren (shaking my head), I need an hour just to chronicle our life and times, man :))) (btw, our first strike capabilities are to be the stuff of dreaded legend); Vince, my man, you are truly solid... there is no doubt about that; I'd better haul ass and start listing names without the commentary or it'll be a longggg day, so here are the ppl that I wouldn't trade for anything: Don, Coop, Chano, Robbie P., Ronnie T., Ray, George, Raj, Leonard Lee, Sarah, Iain, Mr. Bowman, Sunil "Field Marshal Sohol" , Dirty John Mastrandrea, Robin B.and those who know a few less of my filthy secrets: Mike, and the lovely Miss Caroline, Allison P., Cathryn B., Marcus (as I like to call him) Hu, Ian Hu, Susan Carter, Anshul, Ash, Veronica, and everyone who has made my little vacation to this planet so wonderful for 25 years!Pets and Names
: Nameless goldfish (which died because I wouldn't fess up to spilling a quart of milk into my carpet, by the time they'd figured out where the smell was coming from I was sleeping in another room, and my Goldfish was doing the motionless backstroke on the surface of his fresh oxygen-deprived bowl), Creamy the Hamster (who escaped only once for two days, but was taken back to the plantation when discovered raiding food stores; who inconsiderately died the day a young Barry tore into the apartment with a new, shiny ceramic food bowl with "HAMSTER" written on it and the same colour as her coat :((( -sniff-)Jobs
: Working backwards: Investor Relations Consultant, English Teacher for Korean Students at IT College (one of my better paying jobs at $25 an hour J ), Public Relations Consultant, TSN television Producer's Assistant, Library Clerk, Systems Analyst/Job Developer Assistant @ JobsOntario, Phone Survey Dude, Surveys at the SkyDome, Database Data entry, CUTCO knife salesman, Handing out weight loss flyers at Yonge and Bloor one summer with my friend Coop from Orangeville (what a blast that job was!), Male Exotic Dancer... oh! you said JOB, so I have to get paid????Hobbies:
Partying, Dancing, Partying, Laughing, Smiling, Reading, Watching Movies, Rollerblading, Playing Soccer, Talking to Friends, Learning new things, Writing erotic fiction, Writing poetry, showing a woman how much I love her JBest Advice ever given:
Hmmmm. "Don't lapse, bang it."Words, phrases or quotes you use too much.
"Fair Enough." (when I don't necessarily agree with what I am hearing but have no choice but to accept it.) Any phrase from Full Metal Jacket I have beaten to death and beyond recognition in its overuse. Also: Days of Thunder, the Jerky Boys... aw hell, basically anything me and Ren find funny. Some buzzwords: "By Grolthar's Hammer… what great savings.", "I Pickle They", "I am here to chew bubblegum and kick ass.",Dream Car
: Aston Martin DB7, Jaguar XJS V12, Lincoln Mark VIII, Rolls Royce Silver Seraph, a metallic black finish Porshe 911 Carrera with spoiler, wide rear wheel wells, wide tires and vanity plates ; )))))))))Coolest Experience(s)
: No, you can't ask me. I don't have 8 hours! My life has been my coolest experience, bar none.Scariest Experience
: lol! Some I just cannot repeat! Other than that, being on the Ghostbuster at Canada's Wonderland and wondering who I'd see in a minute, St. Peter or Satan; watching the Shining alone; having to break someone's heart.. maybe that's not really 'scary' as much as absolutely gut wrenching......-deep breath-Getting mugged in Montreal, a couple of realistic dreams about academic expulsion, financial disasters, or what have you.Character Traits you look for in a person
: No one person has all of these, I suppose, and I am drawn to any person who has the right amounts of any of these in the right places :) Adventurous, Imaginative, Experimental, Friendly, Trustworthy with a good heart, Not full of shit, or if so, very identifiably so such that all bullshit is immediately apparent as such, intelligent, a sense of humour, an oddness and lack of shyness over oddness :)))), self-confidence, optimism to the point of enthusiasm, belief in potential being limitless, in touch with their eroticism, respect for others (huge), and a back bone! What I want to be
: Stay happy. This entails being proud of myself and able to provide pleasures too. The pleasures I won't detail, they can vary. To be proud? I have to fulfill my potential. This too can be done many ways to satisfy me. I just want to know that at any given time I made sure I tried to do what I wanted at the right time, and didn't hang back. Possibilities: being the best financial analyst this planet has ever seen, but keeping it low profile and high profit, writing, writing, writing, reading, travelling (yes, I'd love to see Africa, Asia, Australia, EVERYTHING, but first I'd better gather the resources! I wish I was already rich.) Be a gigolo. Be a male exotic dancer. (this relates directly to the gathering of resources, folks). Direct and write movies... perhaps act in them. I want to be a celebrity, no doubt about it, I'd love the spotlight.Church
: Officially or by my practices??? Hmmm. I am, I suppose not truly agnostic as I so often claim, since my actions in solitude often belie a slight belief in God. Slight, I suppose.Fav. Music
: Everything except really cacophonous punk/thrash (although the stage shows more than make up for it), and I don't like some country, some opera, and some Asian music, but some I do! :)Fav. Groups/Singers

Also, Warsaw and Krakow in Poland were an amazzzzing experience, as was London England.Fav. Subject
: Sex Ed. ;)… just kiddin, in high school I guess it was prolly Latin, since the teaching atmosphere treated class as a forum where intellectual equals exhanged thoughts. ANY thoughts, not just grammatical ones. We read works of Greek and Roman lit, we had a blast. Also, my Teaching Writing class, for the same reason. Latin Dance class was good too, until the teacher hit on me. He was a he.Fav Sport

: Dog. Must must must have one. They are so loving and loyal and stupidly happy despite anything going on around them!!! It's soooo funny! They are utterly oblivious to things which don't fit into the scheme of what they're enrapt with enjoying... take for example a joyous dogs sprinting through a newly planted garden and breaking pots as the owner freaks out... the dogs reaction??? The dog interrupts its play to look happily at the owner, tongue lolling out of its grinning mouth, with a curious look ("What's he want??? Hmmm, must be nothing! :)))) ") then off they run again!!!. : "Love produces a certain metaphysic, which leads us, as it were, to unite ourselves with the loved object. making its interests and desires as important as our own. By this alone, it is very dangerous, and we pass imperciptibly from the calmest state into the cruellest state in the world.
