Operation: Desert Fox
Operation: Desert Fox was caused by Saddam Hussein, the Iraqi leader, not letting U.N.(United Nations) Weapon's Inspectors into Iraq's weapons sites. There is a rule against Iraq making certain weapons but since Saddam hasn't let the U.N. weapons inspectors in, this led the U.N., U.S., U.K., and other countries and organizations to believe he may be making illegal weapons. In November 15th through 16th, when the U.S. were about to attack Iraq because they had not let the U.N. inspectors in, Saddam said he would let weapons inspectors from the U.N. in. Again he broke his word and the U.S. and U.K. launched an attack one day after a U.N. inspector gave a report that Saddam still wasn't letting inspectors check the weapons sites. The name Desert Fox was announced
by British Prime Minister Tony Blair. He gave a short talk about Desert Fox on December 16, 1998, the first day of the Operation: Desert Fox. Planes were sent to Iraq from the Persian Gulf. The main ships on the Gulf are the U.S.S. Enterprise and the U.S.S. Carl Vincent. About an hour after later U.S.(United States) President William Henry (Bill) Clinton gave an address to the nation about Desert Fox. Soon after came a speech from Secretary of State Madaleine Albright, Secretary William Cohen, and General Hugh Shelton.
There has been much politic difference in opinion around the U.S. and Congress. Some question the timing ans some say it's just right. Some say that President Clinton did it on December 16, 1998 because it was one day before the impeachment votings in the House of Congress and that would afford more time to make the Republicans change their vote not to impeach him. Some say that he did it because of his military advisors suggestions. The votings are believed to have been scheduled for Friday, December 18, 1998. Other countries are unsure this military action is right, Russia, France, and China are believed to not like it.
Certain countries critize this issue. The U.S. Military reports to have done good damage. Many television chanels are like CNN are covering the news of bombings. Updates will be made as the days go on.
President William Jefferson, not Henry as I mistakedly said earlier, Clinton decided to end Operation: Desert Fox on December 19, 1998. The attacks might roar on from the Iraqis if they decide to fight, hopefully they don't but if so this site will do it's best to cover the news. If the ordeal does end here are some images I've collected online. I'd like to thank CNN.com and Washington Post.com for posting these pictures.

At the end of the whole ordeal, Saddam Hussein announced to his people that he had won victory over the attacks. He might have extremely strected the truth to win the support of his country.
