German Blitzkreig was definitely owed to the "Luftwaffe"(German for Air Force). The Nazi bombers smashed France, England, Poland, Norway, and many other European countries to smithereens. It was the German Air Force that kept the countries ambitions alive. The fighters were excellent also, keeping Allied fighter and bombers away for many years. |

Messerschmitt Bf 110 |

This fighter plane was probably one of Germany's best in World War II. It appeared in the skies in 1939, early in the war. This plane was armed with 5 guns that were 7.9 millimeters and 2 guns that were 20 millimeters in caliber. Though these aircrafts did not have bombs or missiles, they were very effective in intercepting and nightfighting. These were not all the advantages but they did have disadvantages in dogfights (otherwise known as an all-out fighter battle). They were heavy and double-engined. They could reach up to 10,000 meters and flew at 560 killimeters per hour (kph). It was 3.5 meters tall and 16.27 meters in wingspan. Those are some of the statistics of this plane. |
