This is the system I have evolved from the original Usui System to set a boundary for what exactly I teach and to further the Art of Reiki. This is based on my research in Reiki and the system is was meant to be.
Reiki The Tenshintai/Usui System of Natural Healing was rediscovered by Mikao Usui in the late 1800s. He developed this system called"Usui Shiki Ryoho" to help others to know themselves and to heal. It was for him a Path of Enlightenment based in the Medicine Buddha Tradition and other Oriental Systems of Healing and Spirituality. These systems include basic knowledge of meridians and energy flow in the body as well as opening the mind to causes of disease and imbalance.

Most of what Dr Usui taught, has been passed down through oral tradition. The basic western tradition came through a woman named Hawayo Takata a Japanese immigrant who was born in Hawaii. She practiced all over the world and brought it to the United States and made 22 Masters before she died. Out of the 22 came two main lineages that have come to dominate how we now practice the Usui System(one being the lineage of Phyllis Furumoto,grand daughter of Mrs Takata and the Reiki Alliance Traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho} ( The other Barbara Ray Weber and The Radiant Light Technique}. Discovered recently are other lineages with direct connection to Makao Usui (Men Chhos Rei Kei Reiki Jin Kei Do}.

Since Reiki is an Art the form has evolved but the basic form is always taught first.

What is Reiki?

Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy! This life force is natural to all living things. It is in us and all around us. It is about Compassionate Love and Heart.

Quote of the Practice of Love and Heart by Thich Nhat Hahn "True Love is the capacity to offer joy and to remove all afflictions in the person you love (sentient beings, being all mankind)."

Maitri is the capacity to offer happiness. Karuna is the capacity to transform suffering. If you know how to look deeply into the person or persons you love, you will understand his/her suffering and deep aspirations. With this kind of insight you will be able to practice both these forms of love. This goes perfectly with equanimity and freedom.

All virtuous actions we have done is not equal to a love meditation.

Love meditation is to practice looking deeply, to understand the suffering the difficulties and aspirations of the person you love in order to offer him/her true happiness and true freedom. Your intention to love is not enough. You have to train yourself in the practice of looking deeply. Looking deeply in the meditation itself."

Is Reiki a Religion?

Reiki theTenshintai/Usui System is not a religion but can enhance the practice of any religion one practices. This is a way of enhancing the spiritual quality through practice. It reqiuires no change in beliefs.

How is Reiki applied and practiced?

It is applied from one person to another or to yourself through the hands. Through a series of hand positions it balances the entire system of the body.This in turn can accelerate and support the body's natural ability to heal itself.

Reiki is passed from one person to the other through touch. It affects all levels of being and may have the following effects:

easing pain

reducing the effects of trauma and stress

Increasing the effectiveness of the immune system and the body's response to medication.

inducing a sense of calmness and balance.

expanding one's understanding of self and others.

Today it is being practiced all over the world as a Integrative Tool for Health and Wellness.It is ideal for Health Professionals because it enhances all other healing modalities and it is drugless.

Who can benefit from Reiki? All living beings can benefit from Reiki this includes plants and animals as well as people. Facts are everything is made of energy so we can explore the possibilities.

How is Reiki the Tenshintai/Usui System of Healing taught?

Reiki is taught in a class by a Master /Teacher who through a series of empowerments or attunements to open the practitioner to easily access the flow of Energy known as Reiki.

In a first level class a student can expect to learn basic hand positions for themselves and others as well a basic knowledge of the body and a in depth look at the spiritual principles that guide the practitioner in thier practice. Most of these classes are taught in four 3hr periods over 2 to 3 days. This is so the practitioner has time to assimilate and integrate the attunements and time to practice and share experience of the system. Ethics are taught for the treatment of others and basic sanitation instructions. At this level the practitioner has enough knowlege and the complete system to start practicing right away .

REIKI PRINCIPLES

Just for today let go of anger or I will not anger.

The reiki principles are guidelines designed to help student and teacher to live a balanced lifestyle and to practice with integrity. Just as Hypocrates set "First Do No Harm" as a guideline for physicians so it is for Reiki Practitioners and Masters.

To move to the next level of Reiki , I as a teacher require 25 documented treatments and at least 6 months of practice.

Second Level is a deepening commitment to honor the practice and go deeper into one's own process of healing process, this will allow the practitioner to become healthier in mind and body so the integrity they bring to their practice can further help others. Second Level involves 2 more empowerments and the use of symbols to heal at a distance and for mental and emotional healing. Application of second level is also done in this class. There is practice and instuction of the meaning of the symbols plus practical applications for all around use and ethical guidelines for this practice. this is taught in four 4hr periods or 2 or 3 days

Add on Advanced Reiki Level II is an exploration into the Oriental Chakra System and the psycho energetics of the system.: meaning what it corresponds to in the body and what you may find in relationship to experiences held there. Also in this class deeper uses of the symbols are taught. This class in not required except for those seeking Mastership.

This level of requirement is to have at least 50 treatments before continuing on to Mastership training.

Mastership Level This is done in two levels:)

Level I: This is a 2 day class to open to Mastership training offering guidelines to working on Master level as well as an Attunement.

Levle II: Is an apprenticeship of working to increase knowlege and experience and prelude to teaching. This includes a period of at least one year in which you learn the basic skills of teaching the Tenshintai/Usui System with more understanding of it's origin and how to hold classes and what is required in theses classes and working with me to increase that awareness, more ethics in business and related areas.The ending of this requires another 3 day class to learn how to pass on the attunements and recieve Master attunement.

Respect all groups seek understanding in conflict of interest .

Reiki Masters hold a sacred space for learning and growing for yourself and students

Be honest in all dealings whether in Reiki or community.

Be sincere in all your undertakings in Reiki.

Have Integrity in all your dealings as a Practitioner and Master.

Honor all truths of students and Masters, for what is real truth will shine through.

I have been a Reiki Master for 6yrs and a Practitioner since 1991 and in Alternative Healing for 30yrs. I am a liscensed Cosmetologist /Esthetician ,Hypnotherapist,Martial Arts Teacher and Transformational Counselor and Interfaith Minister. I am a member of International Association of Reiki Professionals, Association for Humanistic Psychology, American Society of Alternative Therapists, United States Martial Arts Center and United States Judo Association.
