This is an exciting health field. I enjoy my work in IH and have been in this since 1968, with the Anaconda Company, the MT. Health Dept. Mine Safety & Health Admin. and the WA. State Dept. of Labor & Industries, (WISHA....like OSHA). My favorite area is Indoor Air Quality. Please say something about IAQ.

Hi , I am fairly new in Occ Health... 5 years in a Occ clinic 4 On site indutrial. Just changed positions 1st of year. In a private owned plant that has never had a nurse......... they are very green to the comp laws/issues etc. 1500 employee's.... I have my job cut out for me just in educating them how to gain control, but it is kinda like teaching an old dog new tricks !!! Any suggestions would be helpful. Additionally , I sit for the COHN in May........... looking for any resources to help me with that. .Jeanette

This is great a place for occ. nurses to meet ...Some days are "CRAZY" when every thing checks out on employee but they insist something is really wrong and with little choice (esp.with union involvement) You must send them to DR. alas you have a OSHA rec rdable.....I am in process of setting up medical office for company that has never had a medical dept. before WHAT A CHORE!!! any help with designing forms etc would be helpful

I am a nurse who is trying to convince the RAF that there is a need for OH in all stations. I cuurently lok after 3500 patients/ employees and their families with no full time OH role. We can offer general practice nurse services and that is it. I am OH qualified and on a further OH course to enhance practice but my work time is limited. How can i cinvince my managers that OH is essential. I don't want much do I? LOL

I'm the Employee Health Coordinator for the Baptist Hospital & Health Systems, based in Phoenix, AZ, covering 3 hospitals, 2 Nursing homes, 7 Health Clinics, Home Health Services and a couple of Wellness Centers in local malls.
