WOMEN STATUS AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH

Egyptian women are mostly, moderately empowered. Those who are empowered are currently married ones, educated and working for cash.

Egyptian women are committed and strong in decision making regarding use of family planning, despite the moderate current use of it.

Egyptian women are still having weak decision making in marriage & reproduction including spouse selection, correct knowledge on their body functions, and age of marriage. The stronger the women in deciding on their own marriage, the more they are empowered and fertility are less.

Egyptian women are still not strongly protected from violence, having husband sharing in household, nor financially autonomous

Egyptian women are having positive attitude towards gender, free movement and strong sharing in decision making in household matters

Women empowerment has a positive impact on fertility decline and that is influenced by decision making in marriage and education.

Women empowerment has a positive impact on increase use of family planning and that is influenced by decision making in family planning use and at household matters.

Women education and work is a crucial key in their empowerment and consequently in increase use of family planning and low fertility levels.
