Migraine
Migraine is one of the causes of severe recurrent
headaches. It is characterized by one-sided moderate to severe,
pulsating headache with associated intolerance to light, sounds and
movement.
Great progress has been made in the past few years
in the management of Migraine and now with medications and changes in
lifestyle most patients lead headache free lives.
Besides medications a few changes in lifestyle go a
long way in reducing the severity, frequency and duration of the
episodes. Maintaining a headache diary also helps in the
management of these patients.
Recently botulinum toxin injections into the scalp
has also been shown to be useful in patients with migraine.
