Stroke

Stroke or "Brain Attack" is one of the commonest causes of serious disability and death. There are two major sub-types of stroke - infarction and hemorrhage.

In the past few years remarkable progress has been made in the diagnosis and the treatment of stroke.

Good control of hypertension (high blood pressure), good control of diabetes, regular exercise, quitting smoking and dietary modifications go a long way in preventing and treating stroke.

It is now very very common for stroke survivors to lead normal lives after a stroke - thanks to the improvement in medical care and physiotherapy.
