In fact naturism and nudism have nothing in common with sex. You can have sex even when you are fully clothed, just need a little hole in the right place, but we do not associate sex with clothed people. So why naked people should be considered perverts looking for sexual stimulations?
It may sound strange to you but a naked man/women is not automatically a nudist/naturist. If nudists/naturists were just naked people then you too, while you are having a shower, if you do not keep your underpants on, should be considered a nudist/naturist.
Then what the hell naturists or nudists are? Why you're always writing these two words together?
Let's start with some history. Though different tribes all over the World wear nothing from thousands of years (till they met the so called civilized-white-man), nudism was born recently and exactly in Germany, at the end of the 19th Century. It spread out as a movement against the industrialization which was leading man far from his roots. Nudist movement wanted to take people back to nature, and nakedness was just one of the tools. In fact nudism included dance, gimnastic, vegetarianism and deep respect for the nature. Taking one's clothes off was a way to feel the environment.
The nudist movement spread out after WW2 and caught on in Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden and ex-Jugoslavia: in these countries are placed the oldest and biggest nudist beaches.
The 1968 movement and the liberalization of the morals allowed nudism to take wings. Complete or partial nakedness was tolerated at the beaches or on the magazines.
Nowadays nudism is tolerated if not accepted in most part of the Europe: in France 10% of the population declare to practice nudism while more than 20% would like to try; in Germany about half of the inhabitant go regulary to nudist beaches; in Denmark clothed beaches are the exception!
Through the years nudism lost its link with the nature so that today nudists are people that simply enjoy nude recreation. Naturism instead is trying to recover the old meaning of nudism.
Nowadays nudists are people who enjoy nude recreation with other people at the club or at the beach.
Naturists instead are nude whenever they can expecially at home. Nudity is more a lifestyle than an hobby.
