I'm not sure how it happened but I think it may have been attributed to my mother having rubella during her pregnancy. I think he is almost completely deaf in both ears. I've been searching the internet on information concerning cochlear implants and rubella. I've noticed that cochlear implants work only with people who have sensoneural problems. There isn't much information concerning the exact mechanism or explaination on how rubella damages the nerve. do you know if rubella causes sensoneural problems? I'm very interested in finding out if a cochlear implant would benefit my brother. Hope to hear from you soon. Guy |
