Fritz was born on May 5, 1956 in Haren Germany. He has two sisters and four brothers. All of them live in the environs of Haren. His father is 73 years old and his mother is 72. They also live in Haren. He married his wife Magdalena on November 19, 1976. He works as a mechanical engineer in an oil production company. Fritz is a do-it-yourselfer and currently busy on his kitchen. Fritz enjoys to play tennis and badmiton. In earlier times he played soccer too. He likes music from Joe Cocker, John Lee Hooker, R.E.M., Pink Floyd,...etc. and also songs of the 1960-70's.
For Fritz and his family it is still unbelievable that Fritz is the one who saved Steven's life. They cannot imagine what we have been through, but it is a great feeling of happiness and pride that Fritz is a life-saver.
Fritz calls Steven his "fourth child" and has Steven's picture standing on a cupboard in their living-room, so that Steven is always with them.
Fritz and his family live in the Northwest of Germany (Lower Saxony) near the Netherlands border.
Magdalena was born on November 16, 1951 in Haren Germany. She has one sister and four brothers. Four of her siblings live in the environs of Haren, and her oldest brother lives in Berlin. Her father died in August 1997 and her mother died in May 1993 because of Leukemia. Magdalena works as a receptionist at a physiotherapy-practice. She is a mom and a house-wife as well and is very busy in running the household. She enjoys playing volleyball, and likes to knit socks for the whole family. She likes the same music as Fritz.
Marcel was born on April 18, 1977. He went to school for 13 years, finished in 1996 with the final examination (in Germany it is called "Abitur"). He works as a landscape gardener, but he finishes in June this year and wants to go the the University to be an Architect. He likes working in the garden and spends his free time working in the garden of friends and relations. Marcel also enjoys to go to parties and meeting friends in his free time. He likes a lot of different kinds of music and also enjoys Fritz's music.
Ilka was born on June 13, 1980 in Haren Germany. She is still in school and is writing her exams for the final examination at the moment to get the "Abitur". She wants to go to the University and then wants to work as a teacher in a primary school. Possibly teaching English and German. Ilka enjoys playing Volleyball, meeting with friends, and going to parties on the weekend. She likes to hear music from Alanis Morissette, U2, Eric Clapston, etc..
Tobias was born on March 28, 1983 in Haren Germany. He is still going to school in the tenth grade, but finishes in July of this year. After that he wants to train as a kind of electrical engineer. Tobias spends lots of his free time on the computer and meeting with friends. He enjoys loud and fast music.
