Phil (43) bought his practice in 1979 and has run a sports and spinal practice in Mt. Wellington, Auckland for 20 years.
In 1983 Phil completed a three year, part-time Diploma in Manipulative Therapy course but never got around to taking the final exams. He has also attended two Mulligan seminars, three Mike Monaghan (osteopathy) seminars and many other peripheral joint courses. He has published in the NZ Journal of Physiotherapy a new technique for acute low back pain, which is being evaluated by some of New Zealand's leading manual therapy instructors. Phil also hopes to have a case series on the same technique published soon in an international journal.
Phil is constantly upgrading his knowledge, by attending seminars and conferences as an Associate of the N.Z. College of Physiotherapy. He is also Vice President of the Auckland Private Physiotherapists' Association.
Phil and his wife Clare live in a renovated wooden villa in Sandringham with their elderly black Labrador Seamus, and two cats - Cleo and Snowy. Outside of physiotherapy, Phil's interests include oil painting, Movies, journalism, golf, music and New Zealand wines.
