Weather Project
Directions: You
will be given two days in the library or computer lab to research a weather
event that has occurred. It can involve tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards,
floods, etc. You will also be given two days in the computer lab
to type your report.
Requirements:
A) Two pages typed, 12 point legible font, double spaced,
1 inch margins (10points)
B) Works Cited written correctly in the paper as well
as at the end of the paper (10 points)
C) Paper should include:
*General information about the weather event (10
points) Ex. How do tornadoes work, why do they form, where do they usually
occur, etc.
*Description of the actual weather event (10 points)
Ex. Where did it occur, what are the specifics of the event, how
many people died or were hurt, etc.
*What are the risks and benefits associated with living
in the areas where your event happened (10points)
D) Neatness and overall quality of paper (10 points)
E) Give a 2 minute presentation of your weather
event (this is a summary of what you wrote, not a reading of your paper)
Total of 70 points!
