STORYTELLER is a television programme that brings to children interesting folktales through contemporary puppetry (developed with the help of two internationally known puppeteers from Scotland). The story telling is done by Mallika Sarabhai and Band, the monkey. Both, Mallika and Band, besides providing the anchor links, also make the programme lively, humorous and participative. Twelve (of the 78 currently planned on folktales from different parts of India) episodes in English have already been produced.

STORYTELLER, through these folktales, provides a glimpse into folklore, as also folk wisdom, aspects of India which fascinate people the world over. The presentation format and style have been kept contemporary, keeping in mind children audiences all over the world.

The Format being puppetry, languages have also been planned. English and Hindi rights have already been contracted to STAR PLUS.
