Dear Valued Member,
There has been some confusion during the past few weeks regarding the details of
our new payment system.
We would like to apologize for any ambiguity in the past and bring you up to
date:
A. To begin with, we will be paying you in points called DHCDs
(Desktop Horizon Credit Dollars), which
are redeemable for actual dollars, as well as for merchandise from select
advertisers. The payment
system works as follows:
1. For every hour that you are online and running The Horizon viewbar, you will
accrue 50 DHCDs.
2. You will be able to use the Horizon viewbar for a maximum of 60 hours per
month.
3. The total dollar value of a DHCD is based on our total income (from all
revenue sources), and will be
calculated at the end of each month. Members will receive more than 85% of our
total advertising
revenue.
4. You will accrue five (5) DHCDs for each hour your direct referrals surf, as
well as an additional
five (5) DHCDs for signing them up.
5. We have significantly increased our payout rates for higher-level referrals!
You will accrue six (6),
seven (7), eight (8), and nine (9) DHCDs per hour for your second, third, fourth
and fifth-level
referrals, respectively.
B. Redemption of DHCDs in Cash:
1. DHCDs will not be redeemable for cash during the first few months after the
initial release of The
Horizon. During this period, however, you will have the opportunity to exchange
your accrued DHCDs for
valuable products and services from some of our affiliated advertisers.
2. After this phase, your DHCDs will be redeemable for cash (in U.S. dollars),
in addition to
merchandise.
3. After your DHCDs become redeemable for cash, you will still be able to
exchange them for products and
services from our affiliated advertisers. With this system, you will also be
able to take advantage of
many special discounts exclusively for Desktop Horizon members!
4. Additionally, purchases that you make through our site can earn you
additional DHCDs.
This innovative payment system will allow your time online to go much further
than it would have before.
By paying you and your referrals in DHCDs rather than directly in cash, we can
afford to pay you more
while you are still able to redeem your DHCDs for the products and services that
you want. Our
advertisers are very enthusiastic about this opportunity to establish a
relationship with you.
Therefore, many of them will be offering special discounts to Desktop Horizon
members.
Since this arrangement also benefits our advertisers by allowing them to prove
their value to you, the
DHCD system has enabled us to attract an exciting group of participating
companies and a broad scope of
offerings. It's a win-win situation.
We are thrilled with the massive response to our beta test program, and with how
rapidly the last 4000
spaces were filled. Please continue your active support in helping us expedite
the final release.
We realize that you have all been anxiously awaiting our final release for some
time now. The entire
Desktop Horizon staff would like to thank you for your much-appreciated
patience, participation and
constructive commentary during the past few months. It truly makes a significant
difference. It is all
about to pay off.
