My Encounter With a Hurricane

September 23, 2005 national weather stations issued a hurricane warning for the state of Texas for the ominous hurricane Rita which was headed straight for the Galveston coast.  The hurricane was set to hit on September 24, 2005 in the wee hours of the morning.

This picture was taken at 7:03PM on September 23, 2005, in Alief of Houston, TX, when hurricane Rita was set to make landfall later that night. You can see the sky is a bit clear but 2 minutes later there were a bunch of dark clouds and lots of wind.  Notice the rainbow in the distance, it was a full and very clear rainbow.  I wanted to search for the pot o' gold at the end of it but I didn't know where it ended.

Some of my family members thought that it was a good sign and others thought that it was an ominous sign.  I didn't care what type of sign it was (ok I thought it was a good sign), I was only worried about my six month old baby.

My Finace and my daughter as we were desperately trying to buy some type of supplies to board all the windows and stuff..
