Thai govt joins APEC to control
capital flow
Bangkok, July 30 - The Thai government along with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is co-operating with the Asia Paficic Economic Cooperation (APEC) to find out how to control capital movement and develop bond in emerging markets. The coordination is aimed at increasing efficiency of capital, Tarrin Nimmanahaeminda, Finance Minister said in the his introduction speech addressed in the second day seminar the "Asia:Back to Basics?" which hosted by The Nation, CNBC and iTV as well as other sponders including Lion group. The outflow capital was the major problem resulting in the financial turbulence spread throughout Asia region. The conference participanted by around 600 businessmen and government officials. The keynote speakers today include BBL Chairman of the Executive Board Kosit Panpiemrat and former finance minister and chairman of Bangkok Expressway Plc Virabongsa Ramangkura. |
