Subject: WM: Word Faith teaching
Jaime W. Castillo says:
>>>These prosperity and Word Faith people are MODERN-DAY VERSIONS of the pharisees and Job's friends.
Dave:
Well, may I ask you this question: Do you know the hearts of all Word of Faith people? My goodness...
Jaime:
>>>These groups claim the sin of lack of faith as to why people are poor or remain ill
.Dave:
No. That's not true. Many Word of Faith ministers passed away the last couple of years. One died of cancer who was prominent. Another died in a plane crash. You see, what you fail to understand is that Word of Faith teacher teach their people to trust in God when they face life's trials and dilemmas...
Jaime:
>>>The prosperity and Word Faith people are hiding in the carnality of material blessings, and I fear that some of them are no better than Simon the Sorcerer. They accept Jesus out of material gain, or "supernatural powers".
Dave:
Again, you are incorrect. Unfortunately, there have been some who have abused the "proserity" message taught in God's Word...such as Jim Bakker. But now, Jim has gone to the other extreme. There really needs to be balance in all this.
Jaime:
>>>They look down on Christians who are ill or poor, claiming that these people did not have enough faith. What Pharisees! The gall for them to say it to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering! I do not know what is worse, being in a cult, or being a Christian with such a self-righteous air.
Dave:
Nope. Word of Faith people help the poor. Kenneth Copeland gave away, I don't know how many hundreds of thousands of dollars, to help feed the poor. Lester Sumrall ministries feeds the poor in foreign countries every week. Norvel Hayes Ministries helps the poor. Kenneth Hagin Ministries supports foreign missions and also help feed the poor.
Your assumptions are incorrect and is done out of spite towards WOF people. They are taught to have compassion on the poor, ill, and suffering. I don't know what fellow you've been listening to, but Jaime, you are mistaken and I pray that you get your information from the "horses" mouth instead of reading some book a man wrote against WOF people. By the way, the authors of these books are making big bucks attacking WOF people.
