Subject: WM: Repentance of WOF? Really?
<< If some of the WOF people/churches now are like Tkach's Church of God (the latter also having repented of its own mistake), then it is time to rejoice! But that still does not leave out the fact that there are still WOF churches being misled by the pernicious WOF doctrine that caused havoc in the past. >>
The WOF leadership, if sincere about having repented, ought to shout their repentance from the rooftops as the WWCOG (Tkach's) did. Tkach had godly sorrow leading to sincere repentance, and he was willing to lose everything from the possible aftermath of the repentance. And sure enough, the WWCOG split and lost a huge portion of its membership. Is the WOF movement willing to give up everything, if it came down to that? I think that if there was sincere repentance, we would all KNOW it and see it (just as we can not mistake Tkach's genuine repentance). WOF members would KNOW it, and they would be faced with a real decision: to split with the repentant camp or to stay with the original. Members would be forced to take a stand and declare their beliefs. The outside world would take notice. Has this happened among WOFers? Or, has it happened enough that we needn't wonder if there is any real repentance? In some cases yes but I don't think you're going to find this being the case among the majority of them. Has the message of repentance found its way out to the masses? Seems people are still buying into it. Make no mistake, Tkach's turn around caused no small stir. It was something we all can rejoice over, as it is a fine model for other groups with their own errant doctrine to follow. And we can thank God for CRI which is spurring them on to repentance.
