Subject: WM: Mark 16:15-18
On a new subject. Mark 16:15-18 says:
"Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation…These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they will cast out devils; they will have the gift of tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands, and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison, they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover."
In the charismatic services I have been in and from books and articles I have read people quote these verses as signs associated with believers. I often see and hear about people speaking in tongues, casting out demons, and laying hands on the sick. I hardly ever hear about the other two signs of handling snakes and drinking deadly poison. These have only been in reference to the rural churches in the Appalachians who perform these practices. I am wondering why they aren't as common among the Body of Christ as the other signs if all are signs for believers today. I do not have an answer and would like other's thoughts and opinions.
