“Pike’s Peak or
Bust!” was our motto this year. After 27 years of dreaming
of living in Colorado, we made our dream a reality in October of
this year. Our home sits behind the 9th tee on the
Pine Creek Golf Course and has a full view of Pikes Peak from
just about every room in the house. Come and see us sometime!
Kristen and Brent are doing well. Brent will complete his
full time classes this month at Denver Seminary. He just has 2
classes and his thesis to complete before graduating with his
Master’s degree. He is currently applying for positions to
begin working full time in January. Kristen enjoys her work at a
software development company. She was promoted to Financial
Project Coordinator of the Telephony Deployment department. She
feels very blessed to have a job that allows her to use her
Finance degree, and to provide financially for her and Brent
during his schooling. Brent and Kristen have decided to leave
their ‘adventurous’ lifestyle as apartment managers to
become homeowners! They are excited to be building a home in
Loveland, Colorado. It should be completed sometime in May. Now
that we are also living in Colorado, we are both enjoying being
able to see each other more often!
Bethany is currently living in Japan! Yes, Japan! She is there for a year teaching conversational English. She returns in September of 2001. She was hired through the Aeon School. She loves what she is doing and they love her. They even asked her to be on their promotional poster for 2001. She just completed the photo shoot a couple of weeks ago. So, although it was Cameron Diaz that smiled at everyone in Japan last year, it will be Bethany Zimmerman this year! I can’t wait to see a bus with her picture on the side!
Amber is a sophomore at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. She is currently looking into the field of Communications. School occupies the majority of her time. She is living in an on-campus apartment with friends this year, so gets to experience the joys of cooking and cleaning her own place! When she left for college she lived in Utah, but when she came home for Thanksgiving, she lived in Colorado. We are looking forward to her being home at Christmas and showing her all around her new city.
Linda, Bethany and Amber all were privileged again to serve at Camp Awana for 5 weeks this past summer. Amber was a counselor for the first time and did a wonderful job. Bethany was a counselor and also headed up the girl workers. Linda continued to be lodge director for junior high and high school girls. God worked in some miraculous ways this summer. As many of you heard, we saw His hand of protection more than once!
Denny and Linda try to keep busy. Linda still writes for Christian publishers and is currently working on a High School devotional study called Zelos by Scripture Press. She has been busy unpacking and decorating for the past few months, but still finds time for her email ministry to high school and college age teens. Denny has been “retired” for a year now and we have loved spending the time together. Retirement has its benefits, but he may look for something to keep him busy after the first of the year. He has helped with the unpacking and even some decorating as well. We are currently in the process of looking for a permanent church home where we can serve here in CO – Linda with teens or college age and Denny with his trumpet.
Our family was all together in May for a vacation at DisneyWorld. As you can see by the picture, we had a great time.
We love hearing from all of you so please keep in touch.
