2 pounds stew beef --------------------------------------- 1 cup chopped onions

1/2 cup chopped celery ----------------------------------- 4 beef bouillon cubes

6 medium size potatoes (cubed) --------------------------- 4 cups sliced carrots

1 can tomato sauce --------------------------------------- 1 8oz can sliced mushrooms

2 cups frozen peas

In 1 cup water dissolve the beef bouillon cubes, place in slow cooker. Then add all but mushrooms and peas, add just enough water to cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Once carrots are tender add peas and mushrooms and heat tru.

Pot Roast - quick and easy (the way I like it)

Lean roast - aprox 2 to 3 pounds -------------------------- 1 beef bouillon cube for every 2 pound

1 cup chopped onion -------------------------------------- 1 cup chopped celery

In your slow cooker combine 1 cup water, onion, celery and bouillon cube(s). Brown roast in skillet on all sides, place in cooker and cook on medium for 4 hours. Remove roast 5 mins before cutting.

Gravy - add 1 tablespoon corn starch to drippings and cook on stove top to thicken.

Pork & Rice - May sound Gross but is very tasty

4 or 5 pork chops --------------------------- 1 can cream of mushroom & 1 can cream of celery

1 cup rice ------------------------------------1 cup water

Brown pork. Boil rice till just starting to turn tender, remove from heat and drain water. In slow cooker combine soups, water and pork, spoon rice over the top and cook on medium for 3 hours.

Crock Pot Pizza

1 pound ground beef ------------------------- 1/2 pound Italian sausage

1/2 pound pepperoni ------------------------- 1 pound mozzarella cheese

1 cup chopped onion ------------------------- 1/2 cup chopped green peppers

1/2 cup sliced mushroom --------------------- 1 can cream of mushroom soup

1/2 cup water -------------------------------- 1 can pizza sauce

Brown meat and drain grease. Mix soup and water till smooth. Cook noodles till they become flexible. Layer all ingredients between layers of noodles in slow cooker and cook on medium 4 hours.

Kentucky Burgoo - May seem like a hassle but it well worth it !

1 pound stew beef - cut into 1 inch pieces -------------------------1 pound lean pork- cut into 1 inch pieces

4 chicken thighs - skinned -----------------------------------------1 teaspoon onion salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper --------------------------------------------- 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper

3 carrots - sliced ------------------------------------------------- 2 small onions

2 red potatoes - peeled and cubed ------------------------------- 1 cup green pepper - sliced

1 can (14 oz) stewed tomatoes - reserve juice -------------------- 1 can(10 oz)double strength chicken broth

1 can (17 oz) whole kernel corn

Place beef and pork into 6 quart slow cooker and sprinkle with onion salt, pepper and red pepper. Toss until evenly coated. Layer in order, carrots, onion, chicken, potatoes, green pepper and stewed tomatoes with juice. Add chicken broth and juice from corn, set corn aside. DO NOT STIR MIXTURE IN COOKER. Cover and cook on low for 9 hours. Remove chicken. Stir in corn, cover and cook on high for 30 mins. Meanwhile remove chicken from bones and add back into mixture.

Best served with garlic bread.

Makes 10 top 12 servings.

Italian Sausage and Macaroni

2 pounds Italian sausage -------------------------------------- 3 green peppers

3 large onions -------------------------------------------------1 can 12 oz whole tomatoes

1 pound macaroni

Brown sausage and place in crock pot. Cook peppers and onion in sausage drippings till tender, drain and add to crock pot. Add tomatoes and cook on low for 3 hours. Add macaroni (cooked till almost done) drain and add to crock pot and cook for another hour.

All Day Apple Butter

5 1/2 pounds apples - peeled and chopped ------------------------ 4 cups sugar

3 tsp ground cinnamon ------------------------------------------- 1/4 tsp ground cloves

1/4 tsp salt

Combine all in slow cooker and stir to coat all. Cook for 9 to 10 hours on medium low, stir when starting to thicken to prevent sticking. After apples are mushy remove cover and cook 1 hour to thicken ( should be dark brown in color). Spoon into freezer containers leaving 1/2 inch headspace, place in freezer. Remove to refrigerator for 1 day before ready to use.
