Here is Augustus Wall Callcott's portrait painted by Landseer and now hanging in the National Portrait Gallery in London. Callcott was the son of a builder who built much of Kensington. Callcott studied with Hoppner and at the Royal Academy under Fuseli. Callcott was a good friend of Turner. Callcott was elected Academician in 1810. He was knighted in 1837 and was appointed Surveyor of Queen Victoria's pictures in 1843.

by John Callcott Horsley (born 1817-- died 1903, a British narrative painter and a Royal Academician). John Callcott Horsley was the great nephew of Augustus Wall Callcott. John Callcott Horsley was a notable portraitist and painted several of Queen Victoria's children. Horsley is in the National Portrait Gallery both as a subject and a portaitist .
The buildings of St Paul's Girls School were constructed between 1901 and 1904 to the designs
of Gerarld Callcott Horsley (1862-1917).

The picture of John Wall Callcott (older brother of Augustus Wall Callcott) comes from 'The Etude', a once popular music magazine and is on the net courtesy of Thomas who provided the information that John Wall Callcott was born on November 20, 1766 at Kensington, England and he died on May 15, 1821. He was mainly self taught, a pupil of Hayden, lectured
at the Royal Institute, known as a writer, pianist, organist. He wrote 'Grammar of Music' considered a standard (text).
