Some of my
favorite drinks.
Here are some of my favorite drinks and how
I prepare them. Some are not the most traditional of ways, but this is the way I
like them:
- Piscola.- 1 part Pisco
Capel (see my Movie), 1 part Coca Cola, Ice. Don't dare put lemon in it.
- Pato Collins.- Anisado Patito®, Fresco Solo
(like Cool-Aid), grenadine, lemon, Ice. It is recommended that it be
prepared in a 20 gallon plastic box.
- Tom Collins.- Gin, Lemon, Guitig® Mineral
Water, grenadine, ice.
- Anselmo.- Scotch Whiskey, Coconut water, ice.
Excellent for the beach.
- Aha.- 1 part Rum, 1 part Coca Cola, lemon, ice.
You may say Cuba Libre (Cuba is Free), but I say Aha!.
- Ron con Piña.- Black Rum, pineapple juice,
Angostura Bitters, Ice. Excellent for the beach, add a little orange juice
and some grenadine and you have a Mai-Tai.
- Martini.- Ice, Gin, 2 drops of Dry vermouth, an
olive with pit (wash it first). STIRRED not shaken.
- Bloody Mary.- 2 parts Vodka, 3 parts Tomato
Juice, 1/4 part lemon Juice, Worcester Sauce, Tabasco® Sauce, salt, ice.
Shaken.
- Alexander.- Creme of Cacao, Brandy, milk cream
(or Condensed Milk) crushed ice. Makes an excellent birthday gift.
- Clos de Pirque® wine.- Drink it directly out
of a 4 liter bottle.
- Beer.- ICE-COLD (we Guayaquileños call it bie-la
for "bien - helada", very ice-cold), I prefer Pilsener® and
Club®, but I'll drink almost any beer except Budweiser® (YUCK!).
- Caipirinha.- I make it the Esmeraldan way (This
is really a Brazilian drink, but here in this beach they make it in a very
funny way and with another liquor). Put 20 cut lemons in a bucket, add 1 lb.
sugar, smash the lemons and the sugar with a bottle of Frontera®, add 4
bottles of Frontera® (w/o the glass), and lot of ice, cover the bucket and
give one of each handles to a friend, let them fight for the bucket until
it's well shaken, then drink directly from the bucket. If you prefer the
classic Brazilian way use Cachaça
or Pitu® instead of Frontera.
- I Don't Know Its Name.- Campari, Gin, Orange
Juice, lemon, Ice. Makes a good breakfast.
