Kufta Kebab

  • 1½ lb Finely minced beef
  • 1 Medium onion, peeled and very finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger powder
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander
  • 2 tsp Ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Curry powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 Beaten egg
  • 2 tsp Self-raising flour
  • 2 tbsp Plain flour
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder


Mix and knead all the ingredients together until stiff, take a small amount of the mixture at a time and roll it into a ball, abount ping-pong ball size.

Brush the frying pan lightly with the cooking oil and arrange the balls, eight at a time in the pan, place the pan under a pre-heated grill on a medium heat and cook until brown and well cooked, turning them frequently.
Serve with salad or minty yoghurt sauce.
