Vegatable Pakora

  • 6 tbsp Plain flour
  • 1 tbsp Self-raising flour
  • 2 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • ˝ tsp Salt
  • ˝ tsp Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 3 tsp Curry powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 Beaten eggs
  • 1 Large onion peeled and shredded very finely
  • 1 Medium potato, peeled and chopped very finely
  • ˝lb Spinach, chopped very finely
  • ˝ Pint cold water


Put all the ingredients together in a bowl and mix together thoroughly with your fingers to form a paste and leave to stand for an hour.

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan and turn the flame to a medium heat take a small amount of mixture at a time with a spoon or with your fingers, drop into the oil, do not cook more than six at a time, fry until brown, drain and serve with minty yoghurt sauce.
