STORY OF ISIS
(RA)
The fourth great pharaoh of Egypt was called Osiris. He was a god,the great grandson of Ra
(Osiris)
who, according to the Egyptains, created the world. Osiris was a kind pharaoh and very  handsome.
He married the goddess Isis who was his sister.Isis was very kind and beautiful. She wore a tall hat that had a gold disk set between two horns.Osiris and Isis ruled over Egypt for many years. They helped Egypt become civilized and stopped cannibalism.
Orisis had a younger brother called Seth who was evil and wanted to rule Egypt himself. Seth hated his brother for being so handsome and kind, so while his brother was in Asia, Seth plotted against him. When Osiris returned from Asia Seth threw a big party for him and praised his brother in front of the 72 guests. Seth then produced a beautiful chest that had been decorated with gold  and jewels and announced that whoever could fit into the chest could keep it. Osiris knew that non  of the 72 guest would be able to fit inside as they were all to fat.
When it was Osiris's turn he got into the chest and his brother Seth closed the lid on him, locking  Osiris in. He sealed the edges with lead and threw his brother into the Nile.
Osiris died and Seth made himself king over all of Egypt. Isis was heart broken and started searching  for her husband.
After many years of searching she found the coffin and brought it back to Egypt so she could  mourn her dead husband, but Seth found the coffin and was enraged that his brother had returned  to haunt him. Seth cut Osiris into 14 pieces and scattered him all over Egypt. Isis spent 2 more  years looking for her husband. She found 13 of the 14 pieces, the 14th had been eaten by a crab. Isis used her magic powers to join up the 13 pieces to make Osiris whole again. From then on all the Pharaohs and wealthy people were embalmed just like Osiris. Osiris came to life and decided that he would descend to the underworld with Isis as he was very tired. So Osiris and Isis stayed  in the underworld ruling over the dead as they had once ruled over the living.
