Ragout

RAGOUT

1/3 pound sliced bacon
1 pound steak
4 carrots, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
4 onions, sliced
4 potatoes, sliced

Cut bacon slices into 4 pieces; place in bottom of heavy skillet. Cut steak into
strips; place on bacon. Add carrots; season with salt and pepper. Add onions; place
potatoes on onions. Season with salt and pepper. Place skillet over heat; cook for 5 minutes
Add 1 cup water; cover tightly. Reduce heat; cook for 45 minutes. Serves 4 - 6 1
