Mexican style BrewPub, a mexican style menu with mexican style beers (mainly by name). They feature six beers on the menu, such as; Acapulco Gold, Sangria Ale, and a seasonal Pale Ale. The beers are good, but being downtown they are a bit pricey. Will visit again when the timing works out. Brewing equipment was sold to Indian Wells Brewing Company with the stipulation that Indian Brewing will continue to brew beers for the restaurant. | Indian Wells Brewing Co. |

A lot more than just a pizza place. Pizza, pasta, sandwiches, ribs, steak, desserts, and 7 brews on tap. The Chicago Style Pizza is good, the sandwiches are large, and the desserts are excellent. You will not leave here hungry. They feature seven beers on the menu, such as; Blonde, Pale Ale, Red, Hefeweizen, Porter, Tatonka Stout, and a changing Specialty Ale. The beers are good, the best being the Blonde, Hefeweizen, and the Porter. The Pale was described as for hopheads only, as a hophead it was disappointing, throw in more hops! The Tatonka Stout is advertised as an Imperial Stout, has most the characterics of an Imperial, but lack the hops. The specialty brew "Nutty Blonde" was true to its name if you are looking for a lightier nut brown you'll like this beer. The Red is a irish-style ale heavy on the malt flavoer if you like a semi-sweet chocolate, malty taste this beers for you. Those living in the east county of San Diego no longer have to drive for miles to find a local brewery. Was crowded the opening week will be interesting to see what the crowds are like after the holidays, the location is good but other establishments at that location haven't faired well. |

An Irish Pub brewing their own. All their beers are worth trying. They have from four to six or seven house beers on tap. Excellent menu selections, you will not leave hungry. An excellent place to go to even if it is just for the food. May be a pub, but it is family oriented, bring the kids no problem. Inexpensive. |

CLOSED. Changed name to Gaslamp Brewing Company then closed doors... A mexican style BrewPub, featuring a mexican style cuisine with quite an interesting selection of items. The food is good, but is a bit pricey (typical of the downtown area). They feature six beers on the menu, such as; Hefeweizen, La Brisas Ale, Poor Man's Pale Ale, and Makanudo Porter 1996 GABF (Great American Beer Festival) Gold Medal winner. Will visit again when the timing works out. |

Nuevo, bistro fare. The food is better than the beer. The beer generally ranges from ok to good. They have had major problems in the past, but they still have some minor problems to work out. Get the sampler to determine what they have that you will like. The Raspberry Ale is their best beer. It is a bit pricey, but if you like bistro fare and do not mind getting a not to good beer give it a try. The downtown location may turn out better than the original UTC location, I will visit when I have the chance. | August Heiss |

Old Columbia is the original brewpub to start it all here in San Diego. Good food and good beer moderately priced. The atmosphere at Old Columbia has become a bit to snobbish for my tastes. The Brewery Gardens has a much better atmosphere and look, with the same menu and house beers. The La Jolla Brewery opened back in August and will specialize mainly in wheat beers. I have yet to visit this new location, but being in downtown La Jolla I expect the snobbery level to be right up there. |

Approximately 50 brews on tap, with a few token domestic beers. Typical pub fare, with daily specials (Monday-Friday) some quite interesting. Both the food and beers are good. Try them out you will like the food and even if you do not like their beer with close to 50 others on tap you are bound to find one you like. Inexpensive. |

A step up from the usual pub grub, but still good as are the beers. Usually has four house beers on tap. A must see if you are in the pacific beach area, skip the usual beach dives and come here. You will be glad you did. New management and brewer, good specials with creative ideas. Reasonably priced for the beach area. |
